TRAININGS & AUDITS WITH EDUCATION CONSULTANT
Robin Harden Daniels, Ed.D.
Developing biases on the basis of race, gender, social class, or any other identity marker is an unavoidable part of human socialization. When these often unconscious biases become codified and embedded within school cultures, curriculum, and instruction, they create adverse experiences for our most vulnerable students. This workshop series introduces educators to the dynamics of teaching and leading in schools when cultural and/or economic disparities exist. It imparts to participants specific skills and courses of action that reduce biases, facilitate better teacher-student relationships, and improve school culture and climate. CULTURAL DIVERSITY AUDITS
Cultural Audits are powerful assessment tools that illuminate stakeholders' attitudes and skills regarding selected diversity issues. They are typically used to evaluate a school or district's readiness to launch a diversity, equity, or inclusion initiative or to monitor the health of an initiative already under way. Of interest is how well a school's policies, instructional practices, and programs align with its goal of increasing cultural responsiveness. For more information, click on the link below.
